The success of using white ink depends mainly on your skin tone. Tattoos are applied below the epidermis (outside layer of the skin). The epidermis contains melanin, which gives skin its tone. White ink will not show as well in dark skinned people because their natural skin tone will cover the white ink.

A tattoo artist will be able to advise you on the suitability of white ink for your skin tone.

White tattoo ink consists of a pigment, for example Zinc Oxide and a carrier such as witch hazel, alcohol, purified water. A good carrier allows the pigment to flow evenly and not clump and serve as an antibiotic.
