There is now an ink that is specifically meant for tattoo removal. In the past the main goal for the ink was ease of flow and stability for the application of the tattoo.

The new ink is made so that it will require just one laser session to remove it. This is in contrast to previous ink that requires multiple sessions, and in the case of lighter inks may not be removed completely regardless of the number of treatments. The new ink will thus cost much less to remove and result in less pain and potential scarring.

The new ink (infinitink) has been developed by Freedom-2. It uses Particle Encapsulation and Enhancement (P2E). It's applied the same as regular tattoo ink with a tattoo machine's needle. It's permanent, unless you'd like to remove it with a laser. The ink is made by containing the dye in microscopic capsules.

You can think of the ink sorta like a prenupt. Like a marriage, a tattoo is meant to be permanent; but if you'd like an escape clause, the Freedom2 product may make divorcing your tattoo a bit less costly.

Getting tattoo parlors to use the ink may be a hard sell. Commented one tattoo artist, "if you don't want something permanent, you shouldn't get a tattoo."
