Kat Von D (aka Katherine Von Drachenberg) was born in Mexicon on March 8, 1982 to Argentinian parents whose ancestors were from Germany and Spain.

She was a temporary replacement for Darren Brass on Miami Ink who was recuperating from a broken arm. Her and Ami James had a kerfuffle and she returned to LA to start her own tattoo business, and the subsequent show LA Ink.

She has authored "High Voltage Tattoo" as a compelation of her art work to date. She also contributed tattoo tips to to Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna's book "Cherry Bomb". Kat is the owner of Sephora makeup and the creator of the Musink festival.

Kat Von D is divorced from Oliver Peck and has dated Rock and Roll musicians Orbi Orbison and Nikki Sixx.
